Can I lose weight with the help of Orange theory?
Even before that, it changed my body composition a lot, so even though in some ways I weigh more now than when I was at my lowest weight as an adult, I can wear smaller sizes and other things. I also go 5–6 times a week and have taken more than 550 classes, so you can’t expect it to happen overnight. So, Focus on your food. You can go to school every day, but if you eat like crap, nothing will probably change. To see benefits, you need to eat less than you burn, and exercise can help.
OTF helped me train my mind to think more about what I eat. Every time I work out, I only burn 500–550 calories and do an average of 15 splats. I do this 5–6 times a week.

I left my safe zone and started working out at Orangetheory Fitness Stone Oak a year ago today.
I’ve lost 110 pounds as of today.
If you can’t fly, you should run, if you can’t run, you should walk, and if you can’t walk, you should crawl. – Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.
Sometimes you have to look in the mirror and say, “Damn, look what I did!!!”
I think both shots show that.
At the top, I had lost my first 10 pounds. I had just finished my first workout with OTF.
I started to think that it was possible for me to lose weight in a healthy way and stay at my goal weight.
I started believing in myself.
That I was good enough. That I could do this and that I was WORTH it. I’ve lost 110 pounds and am now wearing sizes I haven’t seen in more than 10 years. I’m enjoying life to the fullest and have the energy to run and play with my kids. I’m so proud of the girl on top for having faith in herself and helping me get to where I am now.

Since starting OTF in October 2021, I’ve lost a total of 85 pounds over two years. With the help of Noom, OrangeTheory, therapy, and my own hard work, I was able to totally change my life.
I can’t believe how toned my upper body is and how comfortable I am showing it off now. Before, I always wore a sweater or sweatshirt. Now, I wear a tank top and shorts.

I didn’t work out because I didn’t want to start running or walking and lose all my curves. I found PW at OT, and I don’t plan to switch to running any time soon. I’ve been able to get my base score up to a 4.1, and on a good day, a 4.2. My slope is always two or more times what’s called for. After being overweight for 21 years and having bad eating and exercise habits, it feels great to be able to say what Happy&Healthy means to me.

This is one year of being consistent and responsible lost 25 pounds from 31.8% body fat to 21.8%Muscle weight up 3 pounds. A friend who is a dance mom, @laura_anne685, really liked OTF. I kept putting it off but on November 29, 21
I woke up and went on my own. I didn’t have a plan or anyone to work out with, I just went. Jen was the first happy face I saw, and she told me all about how it works and set me up with an HR monitor. I went into class with coach Ashley. I thought I was going to die when I was done LOL
But Ashley warned me that I would get hooked. I said, “Let’s see what happens.” Well, I will have my 217th class tonight. I turned 47 this year. I have scars from three C-sections for babies weighing 10, 9.9, and 10.5 pounds, as well as scars from other surgeries, and wrinkles that won’t go away. And that’s fine with me. I’m feeling better than I have in a long time. I’m going crazy over it. I feel good when I go. When I don’t, I feel bad. It gives me an hour to clear my mind and feel like I’m doing something for myself.
The friends and teachers I’ve made along the way are such a HUGE part of my journey. We work hard and have fun. We push each other and hold each other responsible. When I’m doing something wrong or when I’m getting tired and feel like I can’t go on, the teachers tell me what to do. A friend or coach is right there to say, “Come on!”you’ve got this” or “Charisse I know you’re stronger than that, so here’s a bigger weight.”
My kids are my biggest fans, and since I’ve started taking care of myself, I’m a better mom for them.

This is what it looks like for me to lose weight, and I’ll tell you the truth. Even though I’ve lost almost 100 pounds and work out 3–5 times a week at a high effort, I don’t see any change. But that’s what body dysmorphia is for. I’ve put in nothing but hard work and commitment to changing my mind, body, and soul, and I know it’s paid off.
For example, at the gym today… I ran on the machine for 15 minutes without stopping. I ran a mile and a half. Usually, I have to take little breaks in order to finish my mile, but today I didn’t stop at all. I’m really proud of my growth and success, even if it doesn’t show up on the scale or in my appearance. I’m better and healthy than I was yesterday, so I know it’s true.
Everyone’s story of losing weight is different, and that’s what makes each of us special. But I’m praying that I can get a Panniculectomy because I have problems with my stomach and skin that hang down. which is plastic surgery to get rid of loose skin and fat in the lower belly to make the stomach look better. I’m also thinking about having surgery to shrink my breasts.
The top shot is of me in 2018 (team Android). I weighed 290 pounds and wore jeans in a size 24/26, tops in an XXL, and bras in a size 54 G.
On the right is a picture of me right now. I currently weigh 200 pounds and wear a size 10/12 in pants, a medium/large in tops, and a size 42 DDD in bras. Non-scale wins are so important, and I have to remember that because I see myself every day, I may not notice small changes, but my hard work is paying off.

Since well over a year ago, OTF has been a big part of my life and has helped me a lot with this change. Through OTF, I’ve been able to keep my weight down and build strength for the first time in my life. It made me love fitness in a way I never had before, and I’m very thankful for that. I had never worked out before I started at OTF. After taking just one class, I was hooked. I didn’t know how to squat, stretch, or really do much of anything. I couldn’t run. For the first six months, I walked. Since then, I’ve usually come in first or second in most of the challenges we’ve had. I do my best in almost every class. So, I feel like I should also tell you something here.
“It’s hard to work out every day. I want to give up sometimes. I sometimes complain because I feel like I have to work harder than everyone else. I don’t like how the food I just ate makes my little belly pop. And then I see this. I haven’t gained back 152 POUNDS in almost 8 years. I’m not going to carry around a whole person. I’m 40 years old and feel better than I ever have.
When that happened, I shut my big, whiny mouth. My legs and stomach were just about too big to fit under that table.

In 2017, I started my journey to lose weight. I lost 60 pounds on my own in that first year, and in 2018 I joined OTF. I’ve lost a total of 124 pounds, did my third Dri Tri, and PR’d today.
At first, I was unhappy with how I did, especially on the machine. When I was done, I cried. I didn’t feel good. I came in last. Then I put it in its proper place.
I’m loving MORE LIFE. I would have NEVER been able to do what I did today. I feel better than I ever have before. The picture on the left is from a few weeks before I started my trip. What made me want to change was the picture. The picture on the right was taken two days ago at an event my studio put on for the people taking part in the Transformation Challenge.

I’m a little sad because, even though I love OTF, I’ve chosen to end my membership. I’ve shown myself over the last few years that I’m serious about working out, so I’m making a home gym to save money in the long run. Hopefully, I’ll make the right choice.
Update: All of you made me think, so I’m dropping it down to $8/month for now. After the class I just took, I just can’t give up on it for good. Since I’ve paid off my car and stopped making payments on my student loans, I think I’ll stay because I love it here so much. Instead, I just stopped going to Planet Fitness.
Even though OTF is a newer part of my routine, it has really helped me get closer to my goal of being fit by age 50. Started working on my health exactly 2 years ago.
